This scale is close to a road map.         1:100,000 Scale Topo Map Sample This medium scale is between the 1:250,000 & 1:24,000 scale. 1 map inch = 1.58 MILES Note the town of Apollo again, you can see streets, and the Kiskiminetas river is more detailed.       1:24,000 Scale Topo Map Sample This small scale is the most detailed. It covers less area but with much more detail. 1 map inch = 2000 FEET OR .38 MILES. Note the town of Apollo again, you can see the old mill near the river, and you can measure the width of the Kiskiminetas river. You can also see houses and other buildings.
