Walleye Fishing Charter on the PA waters of Lake Erie from Erie, PA

Fine catches of Walleye are here!
June through September

Capt. Terry offers you the best techniques for our area to catch Walleye!

The preferred method is a slow troll, around 2 mph. with multi rod sets, using: planer boards, diving planers and down riggers. For bait we use: spoons, plugs and worm harness. This enables us to cover more water and maximize our efforts. This also spreads the fun around for all, not just the experience or luckiest. As we search the waters for walleyes we may encounter salmon, steelhead or other trout species along with anything swimming down there!
We can also drift fish with bottom bouncers and Erie Dearies if desired. Just let me know when booking you want to drift fish.
On all my charters, I prefer you become involved; if desired, with setting out lines and netting fish. I'll very seldom set the hook when there's a bite, you'll have to do this yourself; as I feel its part of your outing to see the bite, set the hook in and fight the fish to the net.

2008 Lake Erie Walleye Outlook:
Walleye anglers can expect to catch fish mostly from the 2003 hatch, with continued contributions from 1999 and 2001 hatches, as well as some fish from the 2005 hatch. Walleye from the 2003 hatch will be 20 to 24 inches long, while fish from the earlier hatches will range from 21 to 27 inches over the course of the fishing season. Fish from the 2005 hatch should be in the 15 to 18-inch range. Large walleye from strong hatches in the 1980s and mid-1990s still persist in the population, providing trophy (more than 28 inches) opportunities. "The walleye fishery in 2007 was better than the phenomenal fishery that we saw in 2006," said Knight. "Weather permitting, we expect to have another year of excellent walleye fishing, with an unbelievable average size of more than 20 inches in the catch." The minimum size is 15" and the daily limit is 6 per person.
