Capt. Terry offers you nearshore Salmon/Trout outings. Mid September usually starts the nearshore lake run of Trout and Salmon. These fish grow to a fairly good size, Steelhead Trout average 4-6 lbs. and "Trophy Trout" of 10 lbs. plus are here! In the trout family, Brown Trout are also around this time of year. The Salmon are mostly Coho which average 5 lbs. with every now and again a Chinook (King Salmon) is hooked up with that could be 18 lbs. plus! Let me put it in measurable terms: average Trout and Salmon are 15" to 20", Trophy Trout and Salmon; 24" to 30" plus! These fish are near the lake shoreline, relating to the tributaries. We troll these waters using outriggers, flat lines, diving planers and down riggers. All the lures are kept fairly close to the boat, not more than 100ft. back usually. When these fish strike, it's sort of like a freight train: savage, hard, drag running, rod bending "silver bullet" type of fish. What a sight to see and fight these aerial, hard fighting fish that have knack of getting unhooked. Fighting and landing these fish are a challenge! Bring your camera or video recorder for some of your best times. All rods, reels, and tackle for trolling are supplied, all equippment on board is of quality. This fishery is also good the month of August and September offshore in deeper waters as they start to feed heavily before their run towards the tributaries.
