Bass Fishing Charter on the PA Waters of Lake Erie from Erie, PA
Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Capt. Terry offers you drift, jig & cast or trolling near the PA shoreline of Lake Erie over good structure, fishing for "Bronzebacks" that average 2 - 4 lbs. with "Trophy Bass" 5 lbs. plus! The best time for these hard fighting, aerial "footballs" as there sometimes referred to, are the months of May and June. The previous state record of 7 lbs. 10 oz. was taken from here. Spring and early summer bass fishing usually offers all a good time, with an occasional walleye and perch as a bonus!
Capt. Terry supplies all rods, reels, tackle & bait. For drift fishing, minnows and jigs are supplied. Your party can bring and enjoy one of their favorite light tackle rod and reel with fresh 8 lb. test line and a small tackle box with some of your best bass baits. Bring your camera or video recorder for some of your best times.

2009 Smallmouth Bass Outlook
Smallmouth bass fishing in 2009 is expected to be fair. Although bass abundance remains below desired levels, those caught should be of excellent size (15 to 22 inches, weighing 2 to 6 pounds). Bass fishing is best in areas with good bottom structure, which is available across much of the entire Pennsylvania near shore area. "Trophy Bass Season" is April 18th through June 12th with a minimum size of 20" and a daily limit of 1 per person. Regular bass season is June 13th through December 31st with a minimum size of 15" and a daily limit of 4 per person.
