"Our Purpose"

"Preserving the past and the present for the future"

Collect: Our intent is to collect any memorabilia, photographs, articles, materials or items pertaining to the city of Jeannette and the surrounding area, including but not restricted to Grapeville, West Jeannette, Lincoln Heights, Penn, Penn Twp. and Hempfield Twp. We would also like to establish a data base of genealogical information.

Protect: We intend to protect, preserve, catagorize and index all gathered materials and information. With the advances in modern technology, including lap-top and personal computers, scanners, "digital still" and "digital video" cameras we can digitally store this information for ease of accessibility thus being able to store the original items that require little or no handling.

Share: Unless we share any and all information with the general public or those in the need to know we are doing a disservice to the community and surrounding areas.

*It is not always necessary to keep the items offered. With existing technology we can record the data digitally and, if requested, return the item intact to the original owner.

*We are and will remain a non-profit organiztion however certain costs will be incurred in the process of sharing the stored data. A nominal fee, yet to be established, will be charged to cover these costs.
