Employment Assistance
Through a special grant, this program is designed to promote the employment of individuals age 55 plus, job development, referral and placement.

Flu Shots
In conjunction with the counties of Huntingdon, Bedford and Fulton, and in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Health the Agency sponsors a mass influenza immunization program in October and November of each year. The Agency is recognized by Medicare as a provider and individuals with Medicare receive their flu shot at no cost. The program is also supported by area nursing services and RSVP.

Protective Services
Provides an in-depth assessment and investigation of suspected abuse, neglect, abandonment or exploitation of older adults in a community or institutional setting, who lack the ability to protect themselves. Also is legal protection to victims and those who report cases of abuse.

Apprise
A volunteer health insurance information program to assist persons with questions on health insurance coverage, as well as providing counseling, consumer protection, information and education on various health insurance issues and concerns.

Counseling
A specialized service conducted by a non-medical, professional therapist and designed to improve problem solving or coping skills of the client or family member and to improve their intrapersonal or interpersonal development and functioning.

Long Term Care Ombudsman
Through investigation, helps resolve complaints made for older persons who reside in nursing homes, personal care homes or receiving community based services.

Legal Assistance
Provides direct representation by an attorney on benefits and rights, counseling and other legal matters important to older persons with economic or social needs.
