Area Code Update

On July 12, 2001 Western Pennsylvania will get a new area code. The new 878 area code will "overlay" both the existing 412 and 724 area codes. Current customers keep the same area code, but any customers who order new service, add an additional line, or move, may be assigned the new 878 area code.

Important Information to Help You

The way we dial will change. To prepare for the area code and 10- digit dialing, beginning July 17, 2000 until July 12, 2001, all calls within 412 and within 724 can be dialed with the 7- digit number or with ten- digit dialing (area code + 7- digit phone number).
