Battle Of Bushy Run Pennsylvania

How else can you use the internet for metal detecting? Using the internet you
have already found hundred's of possible sites. You have created maps locating these
sites and even downloaded a few. Are there any other ways to use this great tool I'm
paying twenty dollars a month for? Yes, there is, just read on. I'm not going to
include search engines here as they are covered elsewhere in my web pages.

We can start with email. Email is the first, and for some, the only thing they
do with the internet. There is nothing wrong with this, but if you do, you are
limiting yourself. You can converse with other treasure hunters anywhere. In your area or an area
you plan on visiting. You can sign up to receive newsletters by email. Even by itself it is
a great tool.

Newgroups are another great source of information. If you have a problem with
your metal detector or want others options on a detector you plan on buying, this is the place to go.
There are thousands of newsgroups on most any topic you can name. Newsgroups are something most new
users to the internet are not even aware of. But I know you will out it to good use.
Here is a link to Google groups on metal detecting:

Weather Web sites. You can use these web sites to check the weather where you
plan to hunt. Or get an advance forecast. You would not want to plan a hunt at the beach with a
hurricane coming would you? Here are some weather related links:

State Travel Information: Most states have a web site with information of all
types regarding their state. Here you can get (Based on Pennsylvania's web site): Travel & Tourism, PA
history, State Parks, and even genealogical records.
For your state try here:
just substitute your state's abbreviation for xx in this url:
http://www.state.xx.us/ such as ny for New York or oh for Ohio

Hotel/Motel: Use these sites to locate a place to stay when planning that
upcoming long distant hunt.
Web sites for the major hotel chains contain rate information as well as maps to locate the hotel.

Online Sales and Auctions: The popularity of online auctions has soared with
Ebay. Here you can find almost anything for sale. You can sell your finds or bid on that smaller
coil you always wanted. At ebays main page just do a search for the item you are seeking, such as:
"
garrett coil"

Metal Detector Manufactures Pages: Get the latest information on the newest
models and other helpful information.

Treasure Hunting Magazines: Get tips and how to articles as well as see what
others are finding and how. Read reviews on how the latest detectors measure up.

Remember, the Internet is full of information, not all of it good or even true.
Use your common sense before responding to that chain email letter promising to
make you rich for five dollars.
If you surf to a page you find offensive or insulting, just click the back
button and leave, it's that simple. Just because it's there doesn’t mean you
have to view it. Also, these links were
current as of this writing, keep in mind that web sites change and disappear
daily. Happy Internet hunting!
